For over 50 years, the Ford Wixom Assembly Plant churned out shiny new cars. I pass it everyday on my commute, and marvel at the 4.7 million square feet of manufacturing capability. Sadly a couple years ago, Ford closed the plant and now it sits, unoccupied and slowly losing battles with the environment. There are however, plans forming to have multiple companies move in and turn it into a green energy park.

I have seen this plant when I lived in Michigan. Also there is a big car plant in Livonia that I have been in.
